In Fast Food Nation by Schlosser discusses the fact that most people don’t think about how where their food comes from and how it is made, as long as it tastes good. I agree with that statement of people not caring to know what they eat. The reason why I agree with Schlossers’ decision is because it is a fact that as long as people are able to live a comfortable life without having to worry about their food they will not care where it comes from and how it is made. Nevertheless if their comfortable life of eating tasty food is in danger because of a viral outbreak from meat or vegetable, they will start to care until the crisis is over and they can return to their comfortable life. Some facts that prove this is that whenever a viral scandal happened because of bad food people where shocked and felt threatened by their own food they suddenly started to care about how their food was produced. However whenever the crisis was over most of the people just started to continue their lives like nothing happened and just carried on with their lives ignoring the food question. Nevertheless there are also other circumstances like people know that some food is bad for them but continue to eat them for different reasons like financial problems or time problems. For example if there were a family of 3-4 people with both parents working full time and the budget being low they don’t really have a choice but to bad food, even though they now it is bad for once health. On the other hand we have those who don’t have the time to go to a restaurant or to cook for themselves and have to find a fast way of getting food. Even if people where to want to learn about their food they would not be willing to change much or it would not make a great difference to corporations for they are only interested in producing a product that will please the people but will not be willing to change their entire business structure just for the peoples demands. The reason for that is, is because if there are only 4 major food producer the people will have to live with what they can get.
